A.I. Prince Technical High School
A.I. Prince Technical High School was originally constructed in 1959 to serve the technical and vocational education needs of the Greater Hartford community. After 45 years, the facility had deteriorated physically and become functionally obsolete. Moser Pilon Nelson’s challenge was the comprehensive reconstruction and modernization of the existing facility to create an “as new” 300,0000 SF technical education campus capable of serving the Hartford community well into the 21st century. The building includes 46,000 SF of new additions including instructional spaces for 18 trades, a new masonry/precast building envelope and a dramatic new image.
Academic facilities throughout the building are fully technology-enabled with internet/intranet access, networked LCD projectors, interactive whiteboards technologies, media storage and retrieval, and cable television for distance learning available in all instructional spaces. |
