Construction
was completed in August 2010 for the new Indian Valley YMCA. The new 42,000 SF facility
includes an 8-lane, 25-yard competition pool and a warm water family
pool and whirlpool. The facility also includes a 5,000 SF fitness area
plus spinning and aerobic rooms and associated support spaces. The
project was designed to utilize "Good Design Practice" and to utilize
"Green" architecture. The project was planned to allow for future
expansion to over 65,000 SF which includes a gymnasium, teen center,
climbing wall, and community spaces.Received the 2011 Annual
Connecticut Real Estate Award from The Real Estate Exchange (CREW CT)
for Best Specialty Project, Community Revitalization.
Received the AIA Connecticut People’s Choice 2011 Awards for favorite
commercial/institutional project.
